Flat Roofing

The Roofing and Fascia Company have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to flat roofs, having installed them for over 20 years.

Our flat roof systems are available in a variety of materials, The Roofing and Fascia Company can identify and recommend the best material for your building, whether it be a domestic or commercial property, with our many years of expertise in the industry.

One such material is felt. Felt roofing is an established method of using bituminous felts to create durable built up roofing systems for flat and low slope roofs. It's probably the most commonly used in the UK, being used for over a century. It's famous durability comes due to its double (or sometimes triple) layer of protection.

The second option is EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), which comprises of environmentally friendly, rubber materials. It is lightweight, very durable, and easy to install.

EPDM roofing has an elasticity which means that thermal movement, contraction and expansion do not lead to cracks or splits in the roof. In fact, it can remain intact for up to 30 years and requires very little maintenance other than occasional cleaning.

The final material is GRP (glass reinforced plastic) also referred to as fibreglass roofing, which is a seamless and watertight roofing surface. GRP is composed of a resin mixed with glass or fibrous strands that reinforce the roofing material, and while the resin is a liquid, a catalyst is applied which starts a curing process, turning the liquid into a solid over a short period of time.

This roofing is incredibly resistant to corrosion and very weatherproof. Additionally, GRP is the least likely roof material to develop moss meaning it will keep it's neat and clean look for longer. It's the perfect blend of high-quality and style.

It is also extremely waterproof, as well as, fire and wind resistant. So much so, it is actually used in a range of marine applications.
We cover all areas inside Surrey, Berkshire & Hampshire.
Despite the name, most flat roofs have a slight pitch to help drain water away easier. This type of roof is often installed on small outbuildings, such as: extensions, garages or carports, but that doesn't mean you couldn't use it on a much larger scale, like on an industrial or commercial building for example.

Flat roofs have gained a lot of traction in recent years due to being a much more cost-effective alternative to pitched roofs.

Another one of the many benefits that come with a flat roof is storage space, you'll gain additional outdoor space that's usable; the possibilities are nearly endless. You could turn a flat roof space into a roof-top garden or a barbecue area to give a couple of instances. On the other hand, it can be used to securely and discreetly store garden tools, such as: ladders, solar panels or satellite dish(s) without them being an eyesore.
